From the moment you step into the inLight Photo Studio, there’s an exclusive, high-end boutique feel that is bound to leave any bride feeling totally special. And when we met Julien Tiffert, owner of inLight, it was clear that providing brides with the highest standard of service and breathtaking images is his top priority.
Julien and the rest of the team at inLight offer a unique and artistic style that sets them apart in the industry (just take a quick look at the photos to your right to see what we mean). Couple that with high end services, exceptional attention to the details from start to finish and a relaxed yet professional approach, and it’s no wonder that inLight Photo Studio is a “must check out” for Southwestern Ontario brides and beyond.
Here’s more on the fabulous team at inLight Photo Studio…
Julien can’t remember a time when he didn’t love photography. Growing up with a dad that was a wedding photographer, Julien remembers excitedly helping him in the dark room, mixing the product and developing the negatives. As he got older, he became a second shooter for his dad. From here Julien was hooked, “It’s been the passion of my life and it came very naturally to me, being the family business…it’s in my veins.”
In 1997, Julien shot his first wedding on his own and continued to shoot weddings on the side for ten years. As he became increasingly in-demand, Julien decided to take the plunge and turn it into a full time business. And so, in 2007 he officially opened inLight Photo Studio.
Today, the inLight team includes two photographers and two videographers. They average about forty to fifty weddings per year and continue to steadily increase their numbers each wedding season.
After so many years and so many weddings, what keeps the inLight team inspired? Julien explains, “We love shooting weddings because we get to work with happy and joyful people and we love to be part of their celebration. We get our inspiration from all the happy moments and joy that is present on any wedding day.”
Two photographers: the Ying and the Yang
One of our (many) favourite things about inLight Photo Studio is that their services always include two professional photographers. This means you’re guaranteed to have a larger variety of shots, from different angles and different point of views. “Our different personalities and styles merge to create a Ying & Yang synergy that’s not only beautiful, but unique. While one of us is capturing the moment, the other is creating the moment! That’s what we believe truly distinguishes us from other photographers.”
This not only doubles the number of pictures you receive but, it also reduces the number of shots that are bound to be missed by a single photographer.
Another great thing about having two photographers is that there is always one available to help with coordinating the bridal party/guests and to arrange and pose them for the photos. Trust us, this will come in very handy on a hectic wedding day!
Experience and Expertise
Julien studied photography at Sheridan College as well as the New York institute of Photography and also has extensive training and education in post production and photo editing. With his training in post-production and design, Julien expertly edits all of his pictures, designs the albums, save the date cards and thank you cards. (How cool is that?!)
In order to keep up with ever-changing technologies and, to consistently improve their style, the inLight team constantly participates in photography workshops and spend hours and hours watching videos of new photographic techniques to improve, stay educated and get inspired by new ideas.
A Unique, artistic approach
While the inLight team has worked with all kinds of brides and style of weddings- from uber glamorous to intimate and simplistic, they say their brides are looking for a boutique type of experience where special attention to the details is important.
The inLight team likes to truly get to know their clients by finding out what’s important to them. For example, they’ll ask you what words best describe the feel of your wedding day (i.e. “romance”, “fun”,” glamour”, “relaxed”, “a celebration”). They’ll also find out what portion of the day is the most important to you- whether it’s the ceremony or the bridal party photos or the reception. They’ll ask what best describes your personality (fun, playful, flirtatious, romantic, or intense). Having all of these answers gives them insight into their couples so that they can adjust their style to surpass the clients expectations.
And while they can adjust their style to cater to their clients, the inLight team describes their own style as very creative and artistic, with tremendous attention paid to the details. “Pictures are taken with objective and well-studied scenery and postures, resulting in unique pictures in every sense- perfect colours with natural lighting that expresses the moments that are so full of emotion and happiness.”
The inLight team can shoot a wedding anywhere in Southwestern Ontario. They also love to cover destination weddings and offer fantastic discounts for DWs!
From the initial consultation brides feel like they’re having a boutique type of experience at inLight Photo Studio, from the moment they’re invited to the charming and super cozy studio, to their reaction as they take in all of inLight’s high-end, top quality products (for example, the Italian leather bridal album, included in the Deluxe package is STUNNING). “First impressions are very important. We like people to feel comfortable from the first time we meet with them, even before the booking.”
The team at inLight also prides themselves on being patient, personable and truly listening to their client’s stories. “We are understanding with our clients, working persistently to achieve what every couple is looking for. We are friendly, personable, easy going, with a sense of humor that makes everyone feel natural and comfortable in front of the camera.”
Last year, inLight Photo Studio introduced videography to the services they offer, adding two videographers to the team. They offer three video packages to choose from and, if you add video to your photography package, you’ll get up to 30% off your video package.
Packages & Pricing
inLight Photo Studio offers comprehensive packages that include many items that are often considered extras- like their bridal album and the parent’s album. Packages also include all edited, non-watermarked images on DVD, two photographers to cover the wedding day, unlimited locations and photos and an online gallery. You can also choose from a variety of save the date cards and thank you cards and several designs for the guest book. It’s a true one stop experience for all of your photo needs!
inLight also offers a fun photo booth that has quickly become one of their most popular services. The photo booth is not only a hit with guests, but the photos make a great keepsake after your wedding.
Walking you through it
The best way to get in touch with the team at inLight is to give them a call or send them an email.
As soon as they’ve received your request, they will check availability and determine who will hold the initial consultation. Next, you’ll be invited to their studio for a free consultation where you’ll check out their packages and get insight into what products and services they offer. “We like to create a cozy and relaxed atmosphere to give them the boutique like experience.”
The inLight team also takes the opportunity to listen to your story, to create a friendly relationship, to get to know your wedding day vision and to offer suggestions and ideas. You’ll also have a chance to view their portfolio, albums and find out about their fabulous all-inclusive packages as well as their luxury and high end products. From here, you’ll get to know the inLight style and approach to shooting and they can answer any questions you might have.
Last but not least, the inLight team can offer suggestions for your engagement and wedding shoot location(s).
Three months before your wedding, you’ll meet with your photographers again to discuss timelines and go over other important details.
On your wedding day, the inLight photographers usually start shooting at the brides place. “We like to be there about half an hour to an hour before she’s ready to take shots of the details- the dress, bouquet, shoes, rings and any other details. Then we shoot the bride getting ready- putting her dress and jewellery on, candid’s with the bridesmaids and parents and other important moments as she gets ready.”
From here, your photographers will move on to the groom’s location to shoot him getting ready. Next they’ll head to the ceremony site to capture the location as well as the groom anticipating the bride. “During the ceremony we cover the entrance, the hand out, parents, guests, first kiss and then move on to the photo shoot location and then the reception, where we cover the entrance, speeches, first dance, cake cutting, bouquet and garter toss.”
After your wedding, when the pictures are ready, you’ll be invited (along with any family members you’d like to bring) to the inLight studio to see your photos for the first time! “Again we like to create a cozy and friendly atmosphere, to view the pictures and relieve the moments.”
